MedSpark, is currently seeking a talented front-end software development engineer to join our team in a part-time capacity to help drive the development of these new medical devices and technologies.


You will be part of a small, yet nimble team that uses software and hardware prototyping methodologies to develop and prove-out designs that make an impact on the world of medicine. Your primary role is driving conceptualization, design, and prototyping of new product ideas, focused on inventive uses of new and existing technologies. Here, you’ll enjoy the freedom to explore new projects, the support to think outside the box, and the advanced tools and technology that foster innovation and achievement. Work hours and days are extremely flexible, based on need and your availability.

Essential Job Functions

You will be working on ReactJS (or other modern framework) based single page web applications. This will include multiple projects of varying scale and depth. You need to be familiar with all the tooling and deployment cycle of a modern web application. Not required, but highly desired, is the ability to assist in the development of mobile applications. This is an extremely dynamic position, and you will likely be requested to perform other duties that require skills you might not have yet. To succeed, candidates must exhibit:

  • A willingness to learn, adapt, try new things, and a drive to excel and grow
  • Must be highly creative and thrive in an ‘outside-the-box’ environment.
  • Participate on cross-functional teams to develop new innovative product ideas.

Required Proficiency, Experience, and Knowledge

  • 3+ years of general web development experience with HTML and CSS
  • 2+ years of JS/ES web development experience
  • 2+ years of working with REST APIs
  • 1+ years of experience with in various frameworks (React, Vue, Angular, etc.)
  • 1+ years of experience in building large and complicated web applications with state management, authentication, and users
  • 1+ years of experience setting up and deploying web applications using tools like Webpack and NPM
  • 1+ years of UI/UX design experience
  • UNIX/Linux basics: VCS systems (git), Shell scripting, SSH, etc.
  • Photoshop/Illustrator or similar graphics editing software experience

Preferred Proficiency, Experience, and Knowledge

  • Additional 2+ years of experience in above required skills and related knowledge
  • Experience developing cross platform mobile applications or native Android/iOS applications
  • Experience in graphic arts or design related work, creative eye, and good design sense
  • UI Mockup/UI prototyping experience
  • AGILE workflow and collaborative development skills
