MedSpark, is currently seeking a talented electronics engineer to join our team in a full-time capacity to help drive the development of these new medical  devices and technologies.


You will be part of a small, yet nimble team that uses software and hardware prototyping methodologies to develop and prove-out designs that make an impact on the world of medicine. Your primary role is driving conceptualization, design, and prototyping of new product ideas, focused on inventive uses of new and existing technologies. Here, you’ll enjoy the freedom to explore new projects, the support to think outside the box, and the advanced tools and technology that foster innovation and achievement. Work hours and days are extremely flexible, based on need and your availability.

Essential Job Functions

  • Must be highly creative and thrive in an ‘outside-the-box’ environment.
  • Independently develop and execute electronics development plans.
  • Design high-density, multi-layer PCB layouts.
  • Select and integrate proper components.
  • Build prototypes (Soldering, Rework, Reflow, etc.)
  • Test electronic systems to ensure specifications are met or exceeded (Oscilloscope, Spectrum Analyzer, Multimeter, Logic Analyzer, etc.)
  • Participate on cross-functional teams to develop new innovative product ideas.

Required Proficiency, Experience, and Knowledge

  • Minimum 2-Years’ Experience:
    o  Analog and Digital Circuit Design (Eagle, OrCAD, Altium, PowerPCB, etc.)
    o  Circuit Simulation/Verification (LTspice, Altium, etc.)
    o  Programming (C/C++, Python, Java/Android, etc.)
    o  Wireless Communication (Bluetooth, BLE, WiFi, etc.)
    o  Data Interface Implementation (e.g. SPI, I2C, LVDS, Ethernet, PCIe Bus, USB, etc.)
    o  Testing and Debuging of Complex Digital and Mixed‐Signal Designs Involving Multiple PCBs and Sub‐Assemblies (Oscilloscope, Spectrum Analyzer, Multimeter, Logic Analyzer, Emulators, Simulation Software, Schematic Capture Software, etc.)
    o  Firmware Development (e.g. Bare‐Metal, Real‐Time Operating System (RTOS), Embedded
    o  Prototyping of Complex Electronics Systems (Precision Soldering System, Reflow Oven,
    Rework System, etc.)
    o  Development Boards (Arduino, oDroid, Raspberry, Beagle, etc.)
  • Outstanding problem solving and organizational skills.
  • Strong initiative with ability to independently develop and execute complicated development plans.
  • Desire and capacity to dive deep into new technologies as required.

Preferred Proficiency, Experience, and Knowledge

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (BSEE), computer engineering (BSCE), Industrial Technology, and/or Equivalent Experience.
  • Capacitive and Inductive Sensing Implementation.
  • Graphical Display and Touch-Screen Integration.
  • Embedded Systems Development
  • Development of Power Regulation and Battery Charging Systems.
  • Creating Extremely Energy Efficient Systems.
  • Development of Integrated Circuits.
  • Electro-Mechanical Design and Integration (Motor Control, Position Sensors, etc.)
  • Development and Integration of FPGA (Field-Programmable Gate Array) Systems.
  • Applying IEC 60601-1 and Related Medical Device Electronics Standards.
  • Gaining Regulatory Approvals (FDA, UL, etc.)
  • Electronics Development and Testing of Class I, II, and III Medical Devices.
  • CAD Software (e.g. SolidWorks, ProE, Catia, etc.)
